He With the Most Toys Wins

+ More info

Description

The first of a series of custom homes at Snowshoe Ski Resort to be built, this house has quickly become a favorite of the local community and visiting skiers. In 2019 Seth Ballard met with two developers, the heads of real estate, and a few builders on the mountain and they called for help with modernizing the mountain. Our firm developed a series of modern ski homes for the Sanctuary Development. At an open house at First Tracts real estate, Seth met Tom and Donna Linski and immediately fell in love with them. As Donna says, Tom believes the one with the most toys in the end wins, and they wanted to build a new toy to house their children and growing family. After many years, and even two weddings at Snowshoe, the one-bedroom and three-bedroom condos were no longer big enough to house their 3 married children and grandchildren. After first showing them sketches and plans of a farmhouse style, Tom surprised Seth by saying he wanted something more like the modern Sanctuary designs. Seth put trace over the farmhouse sketches, flipped around some rooflines with large overhangs added a porch tower, and created a toy that Tom and Donna had to have. The interior of the house was completed this summer and the exterior should be completed in the fall of 2021. The house features a custom steel and timber pergola, 3 level front porch, soaring glass and steel stair tower, 5-foot overhangs, local stone veneer, a custom steel siding chosen to stand up to the harsh winters, cedar, and steel interior beams, and 6 en suite bedrooms all furnished with Donna’s amazing quilts. The oversized garage features workspace for lots of hobbies. The house overlooks the slopes and blends in well with the mountain. We currently have two more on the block on our boards.
