Our client had this property as a rental for years. Once their children were out of their larger home, they decided to downsize and create a well-crafted and detailed home, within the existing footprint of this reasonably sized mid-century split level.

We renovated all levels to maximize useability while maintaining a feeling of design and craft to help our clients not feel they were giving up too much .. and without spending so much that downsizing did not make sense.

This type of project is often harder to do than one with large additions, but we think Sarah Susanka would be proud of this Not so Big House.
