Reston Modern Remodel

+ More info

Description

Our clients had done some nice remodels to their split level near Lake Fairfax in Reston, but wanted to add drama and style, without the need to add square footage to this split-level ’60s colonial. The original house had 8-foot ceilings, and walls separating the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The clients wanted a more open and modern feel and a new kitchen. We teamed up with Denny and Gardner, Inc. to design and build this wonderful space. Since the existing roof trusses, we were able to take out all interior walls, redo the ceilings, add several skylights, trim the trusses, and give a feeling of volume without having to take the roof off.  A half circle countertop and peninsula, a curved island, a newly built-in wet bar in the dining room, and walnut ceiling paneling framing a wall of glass looking out to their patio and terraced back yard all balance out new walnut cabinets, Caesarstone counters, custom glass tile backsplash, and new appliances and lighting package. New flooring ties it all together. We added a small bay addition on the front with larger windows to open things up further.
