Description
We are the proud architect of the historic preservation of this amazing mansion from another era. We worked with our client, owner, and amazing chef Ruth Baker to convert this special home into a bed and breakfast. Located in downtown Suffolk, Virginia, the home boasts a curly pine library, grand mahogany stairs almost out of gone with the wind, amazing brick details
including 30" diameter Indian bond brick columns with a pergola leading to the carriage house, screened porch, dining room, living room, and music room straight out of Williamsburg and a Ballard Mensua-created kitchen fit for the chef/owner to prepare amazing breakfasts, or special parties for guests.
Her rates are really reasonable (under $200 per night). Nearby Harper's Table Restaurant is a top farm-to-table eatery that I fell in love with while going down for the project. Not too far from Virginia Beach, this is an amazing getaway, or place for a special event.
A night and evening spent in the Truitt House is like going back in time and it is a special treat to enjoy the amazing interiors and company.
Ruth is truly an amazing chef and she does private parties as well.
