Chain Bridge Overlook

+ More info

Description

We were very excited to get the opportunity to work on one of our favorite streets in Washington, Potomac Ave at the bottom of the Palisades, overlooking Chain Bridge.

The original house was a smaller Bungalow with a rear addition built in 1996. Our client was looking to create a foyer with a door on the side to block the winds off of the river, and with a built-in window seat to enjoy the view. Additionally, our client wanted multiple ways to enjoy the views of the river, a larger master suite, and a front porch.

After studying the 3-d design of the house and putting it into the context of the neighbors, Mr. Ballard approached our client with the suggestion of adding a 3rd level with a 3rd level balcony to capture the amazing views over the trees to the river.

The client agreed and we added a glass-filled home office, a guest suite, and an exercise room on the 3rd floor. The 2nd-floor master has its own private balcony and a beautiful light-filled master bath with river views.
