This project began with a classic Four Square bungalow, a young couple, a loyal dog, and a vision for a home that could grow with their family—without losing its historic charm. Inspired by California-style bungalows, our clients brought books filled with detailed imagery and design ideas, which set the tone for a collaborative and deeply personal design journey.
Staying true to the beloved Bungalow style, we crafted a unique architectural expression featuring a generous wraparound porch, exposed rafters, a bold and thoughtful color palette, and a mix of natural materials and hand-crafted details. These elements bring warmth, authenticity, and curb appeal to the home while honoring the timeless appeal of early 20th-century design.
What makes this project especially notable is that the homeowner served as their own General Contractor. With a talented team of carpenters and subcontractors, the home was built in carefully planned phases—ensuring every detail aligned with the original vision.
The result is a deeply personal, highly crafted residence that balances tradition, style, and functionality. We hope it shows.
