Ballard + Mensua Architecture is featured in Archello for designing innovative garage conversions that respond to today’s evolving work-from-home needs. In one highlighted project, garden designer Kathryn Everett partnered with the firm to transform her detached garage into a flexible home office and guest suite.

Principal architect Seth Ballard replaced the original garage doors with carriage house–style French doors to maximize natural light. The redesign included a new Spanish tile roof, decorative tile accents, and distressed porcelain flooring to create a warm, rustic feel. Reclaimed beams were installed on the ceiling to add character, while custom built-ins and a new bathroom increased functionality.

Everett selected the interior décor herself, and lighting specialists Urban Electric were brought in to ensure the workspace met professional standards. The result is a dynamic, beautifully detailed studio that reflects Ballard + Mensua’s commitment to creating spaces that are as inspiring as they are practical.
